Let’s Go Fishing is a non-profit organization (incorporated in Minnesota as a 501 c-3) founded in Willmar, MN in 2002. Our major objective is to provide community Seniors 55 and older with fishing and boating excursions at NO COST. The mission of Let’s Go Fishing is to give back to Seniors some small token of appreciation for all they have done to build the community we so often take for granted. We want to provide Seniors with an opportunity to spend quality time on Bemidji Area lakes, with friends, families, and acquaintances that will create memories that will last a lifetime – for the Seniors and for all the volunteers.
The Let ’s Go Fishing program is for all Seniors, as well as veterans and an intergenerational youth program is in the works. Our pontoon has been designed to accommodate Seniors by having higher rails, captain’s chairs, and wider door access to accommodate wheelchairs. We provide everything necessary for a fishing, or boating tour, including rods, reels, bait, life preservers, and water. The only thing you need if you want to fish, is a Minnesota Fishing License where required.
